Queer Futures
Following debates surrounding the anti-social turn in queer theory in recent years, there has been a renewed interest in the role of activism, the limits of the political, and the question of normativity and ethics. Queer Futures engages with these concerns, exploring issues of complicity and agency with a central focus on the material and economic as well as philosophical dimensions of sexual politics. Presenting some of the latest research in queer theory, this book draws together diverse perspectives to shed light on possible ’queer futures’ when different affective, temporal, and local contexts are brought into play. Kant’s Theory of Value
In explicit form, Kant does not speak that much about values or goods. The reason for this is obvious: the concepts of ‘values’ and ‘goods’ are part of the eudaimonistic tradition, and he famously criticizes eudaimonism for its flawed ‘material’ approach to ethics. But he uses, on several occasions, the traditional teleological language of goods and values. Especially in the Groundwork and the Critique of Practical Reason, Kant develops crucial points on this conceptual basis. Furthermore, he implicitly discusses issues of conditional and unconditional values, subjective and objective values, aesthetic or economic values etc. In recent Kant scholarship, there has been a controversy on the question how moral and nonmoral values are related in Kant’s account of human dignity. This leads to the more fundamental problem if Kant should be seen as a prescriptvist (antirealist) or as subscribing to a more objective rational agency account of goods. This issue and several further questions are addressed in this volume.

Gendering Disability

Dieser interdisziplinäre Band diskutiert die vielfältigen Verflechtungen von Behinderung und Geschlecht, indem intersektionale Perspektiven eingenommen werden: Wie sind Behinderung und Geschlecht mit den Kategorien »Rasse«, Ethnizität, Alter, Sexualität und Lebensformen verknüpft? Geschlecht, Macht, Staat
Ziel feministischer Staatstheorie ist es, die Vergeschlechtlichung des Staates sichtbar zu machen. Auf diese Weise soll aufgezeigt werden, wie der moderne westliche Staat dazu beiträgt, geschlechtliche Ausbeutungs-, Gewalt- und Ungleichheitsverhältnisse zu ermöglichen und zu legitimieren. Die Autorin stellt dazu frühe Ansätze feministischer Staatstheorie ebenso vor wie neuere queer-feministische und intersektionale Konzepte. Dabei werden sowohl Theoretisierungen des Verhältnisses von Staat und Geschlecht als auch zentrale Themenfelder feministischer Staatstheorie vorgestellt und diskutiert.
Comics und Intersektionalität
Intersektionalität ist eine disziplinenübergreifende analytische Perspektive, mit deren Hilfe sowohl die Konstitution und Verschränkung identitätslogischer Kategorien als auch multiple Formen der Diskriminierung und normativen Klassifizierung betrachtet werden. Intersektionalität steht in enger Beziehung zu den Gender-, Queer- oder auch Dis/Ability und Postcolonial Studies. Die Auseinandersetzung mit der ‚sequenziellen Kunst’ aus intersektionaler Perspektive ist ein Desiderat der Comicforschung. Wie der Band zeigen soll, eignen sich Comics aufgrund ihrer medialen Beschaffenheit besonders gut, alternative Lebenswege aufzuzeigen und das ‚sichtbar‘ zu machen, was sich außerhalb des hegemonialen Diskurses befindet. Mit dem Band soll das Potenzial eines intersektionalen Ansatzes für die Comicforschung herausgestellt werden. Dabei steht die Verzahnung verschiedener Differenzachsen wie Gender, Sexualität, Alter, Klasse, Nationalität, Dis/Ability und ‚Rasse‘, sowie die Analyse der mit diesem Wechselspiel einhergehenden hierarchischen Machtverhältnisse im Medium Comic, aber auch im Kontext seiner Produktion und Rezeption im Mittelpunkt der Auseinandersetzung.
