Die Schnittstelle zwischen Controllerbereich und Innenrevision ist seit geraumer Zeit Gegenstand intensiver Diskussion. Diese wurde durch die Regelungen zur Corporate Governance neu belebt. Auch sorgen die vielfältigen Beratungs- und Counterpartaufgaben beider Akteure für Berührungspunkte. Auf das große Potential der Zusammenarbeit von Controllerbereich und Innenrevision wurde zwar schon oft hingewiesen, doch wurde das Thema bisher nicht fundiert untersucht. Auf der Grundlage einer großzahligen Befragung von Controllingleitern analysiert Holger Birl Erfolgswirkung und Einflussfaktoren einer Kooperation von Controllern und Innenrevisoren und zeigt, dass sich die Kooperation positiv auf die Qualität der Controllerleistungen auswirkt. Die detaillierte Auswertung der unterschiedlichen Teildimensionen der Qualität der Controllerleistung bietet neue interessante Einblicke in die Wirkungsweise kooperativen Verhaltens beider Akteure.

The history of newspaper advertising began in the seventeenth-century Low Countries. The newspaper publishers of the Dutch Republic were the first to embrace advertisements, decades before their peers in other news markets in Europe. In this survey, Arthur der Weduwen and Andrew Pettegree have brought together the first 6,000 advertisements placed in Dutch and Flemish newspapers between 1620 and 1675. Provided here in an English translation, and accompanied by seven indices, this work provides for the first time a complete overview of the development of newspaper advertising and its impact on the Dutch book trade, economy and society. In these evocative announcements, ranging from advertisement for library auctions, the publication of new books, pamphlets and maps to notices of crime, postal schedules or missing pets, the seventeenth century is brought to life. This survey offers a unique perspective on daily life, personal relationships and societal change in the Dutch Golden Age.
The Miracle of Amsterdam
The Miracle of Amsterdam presents a “cultural biography” of a Dutch devotional manifestation. According to tradition, on the night of March 15, 1345, a Eucharistic host thrown into a burning fireplace was found intact hours later. A chapel was erected over the spot, and the citizens of Amsterdam became devoted to their “Holy Stead." From the original Eucharistic processions evolved the custom of individual devotees walking around the chapel while praying in silence, and the growing international pilgrimage site contributed to the rise and prosperity of Amsterdam. With the arrival of the Reformation, the Amsterdam Miracle became a point of contention between Catholics and Protestants, and the changing fortunes of this devotion provide us a front-row seat to the challenges facing religion in the world today.
