Entscheidungsunterstützung zur Planung und Bewertung nachhaltiger industrieller Wertschöpfungsketten – dargestellt am Beispiel von Fahrzeugteilen
Unternehmen befinden sich derzeit in einer Transformation zum nachhaltigeren, vor allem klimaneutralen Wirtschaften. Wesentlich dabei ist die Identifikation von Stellhebeln sowie die technoökonomische und ökologische Bewertung möglicher Maßnahmen. In dieser Arbeit wurde ein Entscheidungsunterstützungssystem entwickelt, mit dem Wertschöpfungsketten klimafreundlicher und zugleich wirtschaftlich konfiguriert werden können. Eine Anwendung erfolgt in Fallstudien zur Automobil- und Zulieferindustrie. - Companies are currently in a transformation towards a more sustainable, especially climate-neutral business. The identification of drivers as well as the techno-economic and ecological evaluation of possible measures are essential in this process. In this work, a decision support system was developed to configure industrial value chains in a more climate-friendly and at the same time economical way. The decision support system is applied in case studies of the automotive and supplier industry.
Integration von ökologischen Lebenswegbewertungen in Fahrzeugentwicklungsprozesse
Florian Broch entwickelte ein Konzept, bei dem die lebenswegorientierte ökologische Produktbewertung in den Entwicklungsprozess eines Fahrzeugs integriert wird. Über alle Phasen der Entwicklung hinweg wird so eine effiziente und richtungssichere Bewertung und Verfolgung der Ökobilanz eines Fahrzeugs ermöglicht. Weiterhin bereitet der Autor die Ergebnisse der Ökobilanz zielgruppengerecht für eine Entscheidungsunterstützung in der Fahrzeugentwicklung auf. Zur Begegnung von Datenlücken in frühen Phasen der Entwicklung führt er unter anderem eine Prognose von Parameterwerten der Sachbilanz mit Methoden des Data Mining durch.

Global Carbon Dioxide Recycling
This brief describes the current critical situation of global warming and shows its solution by renewable energy use. The author has long studied the development of new materials with chemical functions and is renowned as the first advocate of power-to-gas. He established the technology to convert renewable energy to synthesized natural gas, methane by electrolytic hydrogen generation using surplus electricity from renewable energy, and subsequent methanation of carbon dioxide by reaction with hydrogen.In the first part of this brief, data on global warming and energy consumption are shown and analyzed from the author’s keen point of view. The second part introduces the author’s research results on key materials for global carbon dioxide recycling and constructed pilot plants based on them. Finally, an evidence-based solution to maintain sustainable development by using only renewable energy is described as a future prospect.This book is useful not only for researchers and students studying chemical engineering, materials, or energy, but also for general citizens who are interested in the global environment.
Sustainable Development of Multifunctional Landscapes
New demands on landscapes and natural resources call for multifunctional approaches to land development. Tools are required to identify the effects of land management on landscape sustainability and to support the decision-making process on the multipurpose utilisation of landscape resources. Scientists from across Europe installed the "Landscape Tomorrow" network to be prepared for new challenges in research to sustainable land development in an international perspective. This publication analyses general principles of landscape multifunctionality, develops methods to assess the sustainability of agricultural and forestry land management and identifies strategies of sustainable land management. Moreover, it contributes to the scientific basis for future land development strategies and helps support land use decision-making on the political, planning and management level.
