ICASI 2020
As an annual event, The 3rd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVANCE & SCIENTIFIC INNOVATION (ICASI) 2020 continued the agenda to bring together researcher, academics, experts and professionals in examining selected theme by applying multidisciplinary approaches. In 2020, this event will be held in 20 June at Garuda Plaza Hotel Medan. The conference from any kind of stakeholders related with Management, Economy, Administration Business, Tourism, Policy, Law, Operation Management and all research in Social Science and Humanities. Each contributed paper was refereed before being accepted for publication. The double-blind peer reviewed was used in the paper selection.
THE SAGA OF NARAVAHANADATTA
The setting of the stories is India in the 10th and 11th centuries, when the country was made of many small kingdoms and fiefdoms. There was a profusion of monarchs with dynastic ambitions and a desire for territorial aggrandisement. The king was usually advised by an intelligent and devoted Brahman minister. Shiva's Own Story
The 'Brihakatha', or Lord Shiva's narrative to his wife Parvati, is featured in Gunadhya's epic composition 'Katha Sarita Sagara' in Sanskrit. Somadeva's adaptation retains the storyline, with Lord Shiva substituting for Lord Kubera, the God of Wealth. C H Tawney, blending pure Hindu mythology with Buddhist and tantric beliefs, translated the story into English as The Ocean of a Story, which runs 12 volumes and includes footnotes. Puranic Encyclopedia
This voluminous work, a store house of information about the Epics, Puranas and allied literature, was originally composed and published in Malayalam. It constituted the results of the author's devoted study and research extending over fourteen years. This English version of the same is to meet the growing demand of scholars interested in the study of Puranas. This stupendous work, in the form of an exhaustive descriptive index, covers the vast and varied field of ancient Indian culture in all aspects-history geography, religion, philosophy, myths, beliefs and practices as depicted in the Epics and Puranas. The work is planned on scientific lines. The material compiled is arranged systematically. Citations have been inserted in support of stated facts; at places they have been substituted by reference. Obsolete and obscure words, denoting objects such as a particular tree or plant have been explained by their scientific or vernacular equivalents. All modern critical apparatus has been utilized in the preparation of this comprehensive work.

The rise of technology and ease of spread of information has facilitated the diaspora of new ideas in the community. The penetration of new ideology and new values challenges the status quo of value and morality in our community. While this can be seen as an opportunity to evolve as a nation, the introduction of radical and separatism brings chaos to the community. This issue is not only experienced in Indonesia but also in the whole world. The needs for a solution and academic forum to discuss this postmodernity in society bring us to the The 4th International Conference on Law, Education and Social Sciences (ICLSSE) 2022. This conference is an international forum to disseminate knowledge and research development among researchers, scholars, professionals, and those interested in research interests in Law and Social Sciences and Social Education. This conference was organized by the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha. The theme of this fourth conference is "Race, Ethnicity, and Nationalism in Postmodern Society: Opportunities and Challenges".
The Legend and Cult of Upagupta
The Buddhist monk Upagupta, who preached and taught meditative practices in Northwest India over two thousand years ago, is venerated today by the laity in parts of Burma, Thailand, and laos as a proctective figure endowed with magical powers. The author demonstrates a remarkable continuity among traditions focused on Upagupta in ancient Sarvastivadin Sanskrit materials, key Pali texts, medieval Thai and Burmese texts, and rituals in Southeast Asia. In so doing he reflects the orientation of popular Sanskrit Hinayana Buddhism, which allows for new perspectives on such classic questions as the nature of enlightnment, the evil, the worship of the Buddha image, the veneration of saints, master-disciple relationships, the treatment of heterodoxy, and the relation of myth and ritual.
