Active military personnel and Veterans of the military face unique neurologic and neuropsychiatric challenges unique to this population compared to the public. The military and Veteran population have faced traumatic experiences that lead to both physical and mental consequences. Amongst the important challenges unique to this population include traumatic brain injury, increased risk of neurological disorders such as dementia and stroke, and comorbid neuropsychiatric conditions.
