The Future of Vocational Education and Training in a Changing World
Across the globe, vocational education and training is characterised by a number of over-arching trends, including the increasing use of technology, the growing importance of information and communications systems, and changes to national demographics. At the interface between the education and training system and the world of work, VET faces the challenge of tackling these changes, of making a constructive contribution to solving the problems posed by the transition from education to employment, and of ensuring that the next generation has the skills it – and the economy – needs. This volume comprises thirty individual contributions that together add up to a comprehensive overview of the current situation in vocational education and training, its strengths and weaknesses, and its prospects. VET experts from Canada, the USA, India, China, Japan and Korea, as well as from a number of European countries, focus on their national context and how it fits in to the bigger picture. Designing and Implementing Public Policy in Contemporary Society
Public policies are an arena of collective actions that respond to the main problems of society. They are understood as a cycle of decisions and actions of public administration aimed at achieving the desired benefits in the future. They are mostly used when market mechanisms fail and are not able to deal with the problem on their own, or when they do not work effectively enough. The multiplicity of problems and the inadequacies in their solutions create opportunities for the emergence of new sectoral policies and interventions that address both entirely new and traditional phenomena of social life, but require a new approach that recognizes the special importance of political factors. The main objective of sectoral policies is to support the development of the identified key areas of development. This anthology presents the ways of creating and implementing public policies related to educational, demographic and social problems.
Co-Teaching – Everyday Life or Terra Incognita of Contemporary Education?
Following Dawid Juraszek's statement that education is in a way "a conversation (face to face, in the ether, in black and white)", the contributors, representing various scientific disciplines and various scientific centers in Poland and the Czech Republic, have started a discussion on co-teaching as a proposal for the school/university work in the next decade of the 21st century, hoping that the thoughts contained herein will prove helpful to all critically thinking and continuously improving teachers, academic staff and candidates for the profession. The publication consists of four interrelated parts: (1) teacher creator and implementer; (2) co-teaching in the educational practice of schools consists of reflections on the possibilities and real use of co-teaching in teachers' everyday work; (3) examples of co-teaching in academic education and (4) reflection on co-teaching. They all add up to a holistic picture of coteaching as it is implemented in current educational practice and can provide a basis for further research and discussion on this teaching strategy.

Gender and Education from Different Angles
Education and Gender from Different Angles is a collection of scientific and practice orientated papers that can be acknowledged from four different angles: gender and teachers, teaching approaches, labor market outcomes, and sexual education. Additionally, the book describes the European project known as 'EDGE: Education and Gender.' A key aspect of the project was testing curriculum material, developed by the EDGE group, to be used in single and co-educative class groups to find the effects of single-sex education on motivation.
