Volume One began with the immigrant John Washington, who settled in Westmoreland Co., Va., in 1657, married Anne Pope, and became the great-grandfather of President George Washington. Similar data was combined in the Monthly weather review for July 1909 to Dec. 1913, also pub. separately during that time for each of the 12 districts. Previous to July 1909 monthly reports were issued for each state or section.
