The contributions in this volume illustrate some noteworthy tendencies in current Corpus-based Translation and Interpreting Studies: the reflection on the state of research on the characteristics of translated language, the extension of descriptive proposals into minority languages, the diversification of applied proposals and the growing importance of corpora for the study of interpreting. Las aportaciones de este volumen representan algunas tendencias destacables en los actuales estudios traductológicos basados en corpus: la reflexión sobre el estado de la investigación en torno a las características de la lengua traducida, la extensión de las propuestas descriptivas a lenguas minoritarias, la diversificación de las propuestas aplicadas y la creciente importancia de los corpus para el estudio de la interpretación.

Exploring the Situational Interface of Translation and Cognition
The contributions of this volume explore the dynamics of the interface between the cognitive and situational levels in translation and interpreting. Until relatively recently, there has been an invisible line in translation and interpreting studies between cognitive research (e.g., into mental processes or attitudes) and sociological research (e.g., concerning organization, status, or institutions). However, rapid developments in translation and interpreting practices (professional, non-professional) have brought to the fore the need to rethink theoretical perspectives and to apply new research methods. The chapters in this volume aim to contribute to this discussion through conceptual and/or empirical research. Drawing on different theoretical and methodological frameworks, they offer insights into diverse translation and interpreting situations, in a number of different countries and cultures, and their consequences for individual and collective cognition. Feeding the Future
The agri-food sector encompasses an extremely wide range of activities regarding the entire value chain of a product and generates a huge volume of work for translators. Nevertheless, the sheer proportion has yet to be truly reflected in academic studies and research. This work intends to shed light on the vague, and barely addressed until now, delimitation of the area of activity of the multifaceted and versatile agri-food translator. Through a text typologisation of genres and subgenres, within the margins of hybridity, specialisation and register, this work approaches the characteristics of scientific-technical, medical-health, legal-administrative, humanistic-literary, tourist, advertising and gastronomic and culinary agri-food texts, and assesses the skills required from their translator.
