The 10 full and 4 short papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 35 submissions. The United Nations, Peace and Security

In this book, Ramesh Thakur examines the transformation in UN operations, analysing its changing role and structure. He asks why, when and how force may be used and argues that the growing gulf between legality and legitimacy is evidence of an eroded sense of international community.
