Groundwater Flow Understanding
Any sustainable groundwater development programme requires knowledge of the prevailing flow system, extending from local to regional scale. La literatura científica acerca del agua es cuantiosa. Probablemente no exista otro objeto natural tan visitado por tantos autores en la ciencia. Sin embargo. los estudiosos del agua, tal y como está presente en todo el entorno humano, no abundan. El presente libro es precisamente un tratado simplificado hecho por un científico tan admirable como Juan Reynerio Fagundo y su colectivo de trabajo. Se trata de uno de esos pocos estudiosos de casi todo lo que tiene que ver con el agua que nos sustenta, la de nuestra vida diaria y la de nuestra ciencia, desde las cuevas cársicas cubanas hasta los polos de la Tierra y en el libro nos dice cómo tenemos que enterarnos de ella y de sus cualidades para que nos sirva. Además, en este libro el agua como compuesto químico es solo una parte de la historia. Cuando aparece para nosotros se presenta con componentes disueltos que le otorgan algunas de las cualidades que más necesitamos.
