Two folders of documents related to seamen Donn Shannon and Jack Shickell, both of whom worked at the San Francisco Maritime Museum. Most of the materials are undated. It includes a leather-bound notebook belonging to Shannon, from 1941 and undated; a letter from Shickell to Shannon; a clipping regarding Karl Kortum and the Balclutha; lists of workers; a worksheet for ship fitting problems; a first draft of a chapter of Shickell's memoir titled Spun Yarn (or "Awhaling We Go"); and Shannon's copy of an agreement between the San Francisco Naval Shipyard Metal Trades Council and the San Francisco Naval Shipyard Office of Industrial Manager, USN, Twelfth Naval District and the Office of Supervisor of Shipbuilding, USN, San Francisco, from 1964.
