Historical and Sociolinguistic Approaches to French
This volume brings together two particularly dynamic areas of contemporary research on the French language. The chapters showcase the most innovative current scholarship in historical linguistics, sociolinguistics, and in the burgeoning field of historical sociolinguistics which lies at their intersection. The research across the volume is strongly data-centred, drawing on a wide range of both well-established and more novel theoretical and methodological approaches in order to open up new perspectives on the study of the French language in the twenty-first century. Although it is written in English, the work presented here is underpinned by a range of different approaches from across the Francophone and Anglophone worlds. Particular emphasis is placed on combining quantitative and qualitative approaches, on diversifying tools, methods, and objects of inquiry, and on adopting comparative and multilingual perspectives where these shed new light on important questions relating to French. In these ways, Historical and Sociolinguistic Approaches to French highlights some of the most exciting new directions for linguistic research on the French language.

Grammaire et enseignement du français, 1500-1700
This volume contains 30 contributions, all dealing with the history of French pedagogical grammars and French language teaching in the 16th and 17th century. The volume opens with a historical and methodological survey of the teaching and description of French as a foreign language between 1500 and 1700. The 29 contributors that follow are grouped into two sections. The first section is devoted to methodological issues and institutional aspects of French language pedagogy. The second section, covering the teaching of French in the Scandinavian countries, Great-Britain, the Low Countries, the German-speaking area and Central Europe, the Iberian peninsula and Italy, offers detailed analyses of national traditions of foreign language teaching, manuals, grammarians and didactical practices. All contributions are followed by extensive bibliographies. The volume contains an index of personal names and of concepts. The editors of the volume are members of the "Seminarium Historiographiae Linguisticae" (University of Leuven, Belgium).

Geschichte der romanischen Sprachwissenschaft
Im vierten und letzten Band von Coserius Geschichte der romanischen Sprachwissenschaft wird im Wesentlichen der gleiche Zeitraum behandelt wie in Band III, es stehen aber andere Themen im Fokus. Zudem wird der Abschluss hin zur Vorbereitung der historisch-vergleichenden Methode zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts gefunden. Schwerpunkte sind hier die Kenntnis des Provenzalischen (Okzitanischen), des Rumänischen und Rätoromanischen in jener Epoche, die Lehrwerke und Wörterbücher, die in den romanischen Ländern zur Kenntnis der jeweils anderen romanischen Sprache beitragen, die Entwicklung in Deutschland und die Bedeutung der Sprachenzyklopädien von Hervás, Adelung und Vater für die Entwicklung einer historischen Perspektive in der Sprachwissenschaft. L'Analisi Linguistica e Letteraria 2011-1
L’Analisi Linguistica e Letteraria è una rivista internazionale di linguistica e letteratura peer reviewed. Ha una prospettiva sia sincronica che diacronica e accoglie ricerche di natura teorica e applicata. Seguendo un orientamento spiccatamente interdisciplinare, si propone di approfondire la comprensione dei processi di analisi testuale in ambito letterario come anche in ambito linguistico. La rivista è organizzata in tre sezioni: la prima contiene saggi e articoli; la seconda presenta discussioni e analisi d’opera relative alle scienze linguistiche e letterarie; la terza sezione ospita recensioni e una rassegna di brevi schede bibliografiche riguardanti la linguistica generale e le linguistiche delle singole lingue (francese, inglese, russo, tedesco). La rivista pubblica regolarmente articoli in francese, inglese, italiano e tedesco, e occasionalmente anche in altre lingue: nel 2010, ad esempio, ha pubblicato un volume tematico interamente in russo.
