A Psicologia é um campo do conhecimento que apresenta uma dispersão teórica desde seu estabelecimento como ciência formal no final do século 19. Essa dispersão é marcada pela variedade de matrizes que constituem o saber psicológico, que sustentam metodologias e epistemologias próprias. Considerando a pluralidade de visões sobre homem e mundo abarcados pela Psicologia, é possível definir um objeto de estudo inteligível às singularidades de uma ciência que busca produzir conhecimento de rigor? A proposta deste trabalho foi discutir como os processos de subjetivação ocupam esse lugar de objeto de estudo da ciência psicológica. Para tecer o fio condutor dessa proposição, os objetivos deste trabalho foram: compreender a dialética sujeito-objeto no pensamento científico e filosófico a partir da Antiguidade no ocidente; investigar a mudança dos paradigmas na estrutura das revoluções do pensamento científico; analisar como os processos de subjetivação se relacionam e possibilitam as tradições científico-filosóficas na Psicologia.
