Jakob Schneider, son of Johannes Schneider and Anna Margaretha Bizer, was born in 1846 in Endingen, Germany. He married Barbara Elisabeth Köhler, daughter of Henry Köhler and Anna Dorothea Lindemann, in 1868 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. They had ten children. He died in 1896 in Marshwood, Pennsylvania.
