Metsä
Metsä, the Finnish word for forest, is a selection of photographs from a project wherein Berntsen has set out to do an artistic documentation of the taiga, the landscape connecting the northern parts of Russia, Norway, Finland and Sweden. A flat landscape containing mainly marshland and coniferous forests. The book presents 60 black and white photographs from Northern Finland and Sweden, executed between 2013 and 2015 with a 16 x 21 cm large format camera. The book also has an essay by Jan-Erik Lundström, translated to Finnish, Sami and Russian.

Curating Beyond the Mainstream
Four case studies bring to the fore decolonial and other non-hegemonic approaches to the profession of curating in Sweden from the 1960s to the early 2000s. Edited by CuratorLab at Konstfack University of Arts: Anna Mikaela Ekstrand, Giulia Floris, Vasco Forconi, Edy Fung, Julius Lehmann, Maria Lind, Marc Navarro, Simina Neagu, Hanna Nordell, Tomek Pawłowski Jarmołajew, Marja Rautaharju, Erik Sandberg, Joanna Warsza Through four case studies, Archeology of a Profession in Sweden brings to the fore decolonial and other non-hegemonic approaches to the profession of curating in Sweden from the 1960s to the early 2000s. Carlos Capelán, Elisabet Haglund, Gunilla Lundahl, and Jan-Erik Lundström made their mark on art and curating of their time, at institutions such as Kulturhuset and Arkitekturmuseet in Stockholm, Borås Konstmuseum and Bildmuseet in Umeå, but also through exhibitions on trains and in parks. They pioneered what today is called “social practice” and embraced art and artists from all parts of the world. This book highlights their underresearched work in presentations, essays, and interviews, accompanied by rare photographic documentation.

Qummut Qukiria! celebrates art and culture within and beyond traditional Inuit and Sámi homelands in the Circumpolar Arctic -- from the continuance of longstanding practices such as storytelling and skin sewing to the development of innovative new art forms such as throatboxing (a hybrid of traditional Inuit throat singing and beatboxing). In this illuminating book, curators, scholars, artists, and activists from Inuit Nunangat, Kalaallit Nunaat, Sápmi, Canada, and Scandinavia address topics as diverse as Sámi rematriation and the revival of the ládjogahpir (a Sámi woman's headgear), the experience of bringing Inuit stone carving to a workshop for inner-city youth, and the decolonizing potential of Traditional Knowledge and its role in contemporary design and beyond. Qummut Qukiria! showcases the thriving art and culture of the Indigenous Circumpolar peoples in the present and demonstrates its importance for the revitalization of language, social wellbeing, and cultural identity.
