A Gathering of Ketchum Kindred
Benjamin Ketchum was born in 1804 in New York. About 1820 he moved to Ohio where he married Rhoda Benn Ketchum. They had eight children and remained in Ohio for the rest of their lives. After Benjamin's death Rhoda married John Roszell. Today descendants live in Ohio, Indiana, Texas, Washington, and elsewhere.

As a material link between body and culture, self and other, the voice has been endlessly fascinating to artists and critics. Yet it is the voices of women that have inspired the greatest fascination, as well as the deepest ambivalence, because the female voice signifies sexual otherness as well as sexual and cultural power.
