This book discusses the developments in policy and practice in the field of formal, non-formal and continuing vocational education and training in Spain since 1970. It describes how VET has been transformed and become one of the country’s main areas of pedagogical innovation, and also examines current developments, such as the role of non-formal vocational education and training, the accreditation of vocational qualifications acquired in the non-formal system, and the adoption of dual apprenticeships that bear little resemblance to central European dual systems. Written by respected researchers in these fields, the first section is informative and analytical, offering a description of the system and comments based on academic literature and research. The second section illustrates the research on relevant issues, portraying empirical data from different regions in Spain, as well as nationwide data. La proliferación de festivales en todo el mundo ha dado lugar a un nuevo ámbito académico: los estudios de festivales. Antes de su fallecimiento prematuro, Dragan Klaic era la primera autoridad sobre esta disciplina. Festivals in Focus contiene los últimos ensayos que escribió Klaic como capítulos introductorios de un (próximo) volumen sobre festivales. Sin embargo, estos cuatro ensayos también pueden leerse como textos completos en sí mismos, ya que demuestran la gran capacidad crítica de su autor y plantean interesantes preguntas sobre los festivales culturales no solo en Europa sino en un contexto global. Local or autochthonous pig breeds represent a pool of genetic diversity of porcine species and a link with old-style traditional production systems and traditional pork products. These breeds were largely abandoned because they were not competitive in the concept of modern, industrial type of pig production. Despite an increased interest for local pig breeds in the past years, they remain largely untapped and the knowledge about their characteristics is limited, which was a challenge undertook in the project TREASURE in the frame of multicriteria evaluation of local pig breeds. The book represents a valuable compendium of data on census, breeding organisations, production systems, and performances with ambition to present their contemporary (preserved) phenotype. Technologies such as tablets, plagiarism software, and learning videos are now an important part of teaching and learning around the world.
