Jay Ramsay, currently poet in residence at St James Church at Picadilly in London, invites the reader of his inspirational poetry to ask what it means to open to a greater love. His poems explore this theme which is crucial to our present time and future evolution. Ramsay delights us with the sacred and enduring in a world lost in the secular and transient, and offers us a renewed faith in the power of love as an agent of change.

The Poet in You

A poem is like a butterfly. A moment seeds itself inside us. A memory. An experience when we saw, we felt, perhaps even, we knew. There is a poet in all of us. However unknown or neglected that part of us may be, it is there, often just waiting for the right conditions to present themselves. Jay Ramsay presents a workbook which guides you into writing poetry—a unique exploration and synthesis between poetry and personal development. Specially designed for people who may be longing to write, as well as those who already are, Ramsay's particular gift is to teach poetry primarily from inspiration and imagination rather than intellectual technique.

ALCHEMY

Alchemy is a path of self-knowledge, unique in the Western tradition, vitally relevant for the modern world. It's symbols lie deep in the collective unconscious, in the world of dreams and imagery: the practices of alchemy are rooted in an understanding of the oneness of spirit and matter through which we celebrate our sexuality and spirituality.

A wonderfully enjoyable storehouse of ancient Chinese history and legends, which also has an important role in understanding 21st-century China 'And remember: Heaven's blessing will cease forever if there's despair and poverty in your lands' The Most Venerable Book (also known as The Book of History) is one of the Five Classics, a key work of Chinese literature which preserves some of the most ancient and dramatic chronicles of the history, both real and mythological, of the Chinese state. For many centuries it was a central work for anyone wishing to work for the Imperial administration, preserving as it does a fascinating mixture of key Confucian concepts as well as page after page of heroes, benevolent rulers, sagacious ministers, and struggles against flood, corruption and vicious, despotic rulers. The First Emperor tried in 213 BC to have all copies of the book destroyed because of its subversive implication that 'the Mandate of Heaven' could be withdrawn from rulers who failed their people. For similar reasons it was also banned by Chairman Mao. Extraordinarily, the values of The Most Venerable Book have been revived by the Chinese government of the 2010s.

Soul of the Earth is an anthology of poetry to inspire hope in humanity. Beautifully crafted, yet challenging received wisdom and pushing boundaries, these are cutting-edge poems from a new generation of writers who share a love of the Earth and haven't given up on humans either. In poems as light as a butterfly and as wild as a storm you'll find vivid, contemporary voices that dare to explore a spiritual dimension to life on Earth and, in doing so, imply that a way out of our global crisis of ecological catastrophe, financial meltdown, and bankruptcy of the spirit is to look beyond the impasse of materialism. With contributions from poets in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand, ...
