Door To Death

The book, “Door to Death” has two stories. Both stories are very interesting. One story is from Mumbai and wrongdoers are from Kanpur and the other is related to Goa. "Door to Death" is a crime story where two love birds could not knit their nest together due to discrimination and ego. One of the stories “Death is Silent” is written to show that love never sees any caste, creed, poor, rich, or language, it only knows love. Love never believes in discrimination and ego. The body was first traced in a dilapidated building and in the end, found in Vasai Creek. How the planning is done and separated one of the loved ones. The narrator of the story traced the body in the broken building. The police team went to Kanpur and collected all the evidence to nab the culprits. The second story is from Goa. On the unfortunate 8th of July, the criminal was caught by the police.

The MLA enjoys more power and privileges than any other elected representative. As head of various development bodies in his constituency with a substantial development fund made available to him by the government, he is a major agent of change. In contrast the MP s status has diminished even as has his role. He is no longer in a position to influence policy; his perorations in Parliament remain ignored and his advice unheeded, unless of course he makes it as a minister. But how many do. Thus the new political elite, it is argued by the author, are the state legislators whose functions can enable them to transform their constituencies. Those in the rural areas, with the aid of co-operatives,...

Fabricating Homeland Security

Homeland security is rarely just a matter of the homeland; it involves the circulation and multiplication of policing practices across borders. Though the term "homeland security" is closely associated with the United States, Israel is credited with first developing this all-encompassing approach to domestic surveillance and territorial control. Today, it is a central node in the sprawling global homeland security industry worth hundreds of billions of dollars. And in the wake of the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks, India emerged as a major growth market. Known as "India's 9/11" or simply "26/11," the attacks sparked significant public pressure to adopt "modern" homeland security approaches. S...

This book gives readers an in-depth and up-to-date account of India’s external and internal threats in a deteriorating global security environment. It shows that while partnerships with some countries have strengthened, anxieties persist with others such as China and Pakistan. Similarly, India has not been able to cope with the challenges of internal security emerging from violence in Kashmir, insurgency in the north-east, to mention a few. Problems of global terrorism and global warming stare us in the face. Tensions between major powers, threats and counter-threats between major and middle powers, and international hotspots like Georgia and Afghanistan remind us that there is intense com...
