September Song is a collection of stories and a full-length play, written over a span of fifteen years in the authors long writing career. The settings of the stories range from China to California and Vermont; the play, Guests of Summer, is set in Nebraska. Orville Prescott in the New York Times called one of the stories, OHaras Creation, a provocative study of an artist lost in alcoholism, given an extra push downward by the monotony of his soldier life in China, and the fantastic mural he painted on the walls of a recreation hall.

The National. Institutes of Health (NIH), an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services, is the primary federal agency for supporting medical research. The Office of the Director (OD) is the central NIH office responsible for setting policy and overseeing NIH's 27 institutes and centers. Allegations involving one institute raised questions about areas of oversight by the OD. In light of these questions, this report examined: (1) how NIH makes extramural research funding decisions and OD monitoring of this process; (2) the design of selected internal controls over NIH's travel and personnel appointment processes; and (3) the design of NIH's new risk management program and the program it is replacing. In a winter wonderland, Nancy takes a walk on the wild side! Nancy, Bess, and George are staying at a rustic lodge in Wyoming, looking forward to fun winter sports like skiing and dogsledding. But their vacation plunges into mystery when Rainbow, the lodge’s tame pet wolf, suddenly disappears, leaving her five newborn pups motherless. Then Nancy learns that the lodge owners are creating a wolf sanctuary on their land—and not everybody is happy. Was stealing Rainbow meant to be a warning? As Nancy investigates, her suspects include a hostile neighbor, a young wolf expert, and a handsome ranch hand. And if she’s not careful, someone in the white wilderness will snow her under for good!

This is a print on demand edition of a hard to find publication. On October 8, 2008, the Prenatally and Postnatally Diagnosed Conditions Awareness Act was signed into law, requiring a report concerning the effectiveness of current health care and family support programs for the families of children with disabilities. This report focused on Down syndrome because it is a medical condition that is associated with disabilities and occurs frequently enough to yield a sufficient population size for an analysis. The report examined: (1) what is known about the extent to which children with Down syndrome receive medical care during early childhood; and (2) what resources families of children with Down syndrome receive through their health care providers and what barriers families face to using these resources.
