Monograph of Living Chitons (Mollusca: Polyplacophora), Volume 6 Family Schizochitonidae
Since H.A. Pilsbry’s classic work on the chitons (Polyplacophora), published between 1892 and 1894 in the Manual of Conchology, there has been no comprehensive taxonomic review of this group. Piet Kaas and Richard van Belle changed this when they started the book series Monograph of Living Chitons, which aimed, after a careful study of the type material, to systematically describe and illustrate every known - or hitherto unknown - species. The first five volumes were published between 1985 and 1994. The sudden death of seniour author Piet Kaas in 1996 postponed the publication of Volume 6. The unfinished manuscript was taken up by a new author, Hermann Strack, who in collaboration with van Belle managed to finish it. In Volume 6 no less than 167 species are treated and depicted, of which 3 are described as new. Two important families are covered: the Schizochitonidae and the Chitonidae. Especially the coverage of the Chitonidae, with well know and species-rich genera and subgenera as Chiton, Rhyssoplax, Acanthopleura, Tonicia, Lucilina and Onithochiton is long awaited and will prove very useful to researchers, students and collectors alike.

The Superfamily Mactroidea (Mollusca:Bivalvia) in American Waters
This book identifies all valid species belonging to the superfamily Mactroidea living in American waters, distributed across fourteen biogeographical provinces. It also provides an updated classification of the widely occurring Mactroidea superfamily, which comprises eight subfamilies grouped into four families: Mactridae (Lamarck, 1809); Anatinellidae (Deshayes, J.Gray 1853); Cardiliidae (Fischer, 1887) and Mesodesmatidae (J. Gray, 1840). The species included in this superfamily are known to have existed in North America since the Early Cretaceous.

A cybertaxonomic revision of the micro-landsnail genus Plectostoma Adam (Mollusca, Caenogastropoda, Diplommatinidae), from Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra and Indochina
The Tropical micro-landsnail of the genus Plectostoma exhibits a greater diversity in shell forms, largely due to the last whorl, which, in some species is coiled irregularly. The genus counts 79 species and occurs in Vietnam, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, and Borneo. Plectostoma can only be found in limestone outcrops, where the rock face is its major habitat. This work revises non-Borneo Plectostoma species, which are more diverse in their shell form than Bornean Plectostoma. As a result, 10 new Plectostoma species are described together with the existing 21 species, based on the redefined shell characters and genetic data. In addition, all the data of 31 species, namely, 62 references, 214 collections, 290 pictures, and 155 3D models, were simultaneously tagged and linked to each other. All the synthesised, semantic-tagged, and linked taxonomic information is made freely and publicly available online.
