The use of sensors based on fibre optic technology allows a broad range of applications in the fields of structural and geotechnical monitoring, which can effectively improve the maintenance of infrastructures and the safety of communities. Thanks to its valuable features, such as distributed monitoring, the easiness and endurance of cabling, long term stability, reliable responses in both static and dynamic regimes and fibre optic technology, innovative and efficient solutions to quite difficult monitoring problems have already been provided. The increasing worldwide attention to infrastructures and communities with resilience capabilities against natural disasters has opened up new and cha...
The King of Mercenaries, Zhang Xiaobin, returned to the city and became a waiter in a small bar. Not only did he take away the top quality beauty, the boss, but he also managed to fool the beautiful female police. Even the beautiful maid Zhang Xiaobin, the peerless female assassin, and the beautiful widow fell in love with him.
Van der Waals (vdW) ferroelectric CuInP2S6 (CIPS) has attracted intense research interest due to its unique ferroelectric properties that make it promising for potential applications in flexible electronic devices. A mechanical mean, or so-called strain gradient engineering, has been proven as an effective method to modulate its ferroelectric properties, but the key parameter elastic constants Cij has not been accurately measured. Here, we utilized nanoindentation and contact resonance atomic force microscopy (CR-AFM) techniques to measure the elastic modulus on the (001) plane of nanoscale phase separated CuInP2S6-In4/3P2S6 (CIPS-IPS). The Young’s modulus of the CIPS was slightly less than that of the IPS. Density Functional Theory was introduced to obtain the accurate full elastic constant Cij of CIPS and IPS, and we deduced their respective Young’s moduli, all of which are in good agreement with our experimental values. We further discovered the asymmetrical domain switching and proposed an ion-mediated domain switching model. The results provide a reliable experimental reference for strain gradient engineering in the phase field simulation in CIPS-IPS.
The 4-volume set LNCS 11632 until LNCS 11635 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Security, ICAIS 2019, which was held in New York, USA, in July 2019. The conference was formerly called “International Conference on Cloud Computing and Security” with the acronym ICCCS. The total of 230 full papers presented in this 4-volume proceedings was carefully reviewed and selected from 1529 submissions. The papers were organized in topical sections as follows: Part I: cloud computing; Part II: artificial intelligence; big data; and cloud computing and security; Part III: cloud computing and security; information hiding; IoT security; multimedia forensics; and encryption and cybersecurity; Part IV: encryption and cybersecurity.
This ambitious work traces a social history of semicolonialism in late-nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century China. It takes as its central concern the intertwining of two antagonistic forces: elite constructions of modernity shaped globally, and an alternate line of peasant resistance and development. Nantong county and the northern portion of the commercially advanced Yangzi Delta form its focal points. Lying in the hinterland of and connected in myriad ways with the treaty port of Shanghai, which in the late nineteenth century became the center of imperialist activity in China, the northern delta is an ideal locale for examining how the acquisition, transmission, and contestation of pow...
Civil Engineering and Urban Research collects papers resulting from the conference on Civil, Architecture and Urban Engineering (ICCAUE 2022), Xining, China, 24–26 June 2022. The primary goal is to promote research and developmental activities in civil engineering, architecture and urban research. Moreover, it aims to promote scientific information interchange between scholars from the top universities, business associations, research centers and high-tech enterprises working all around the world. The conference conducts in-depth exchanges and discussions on relevant topics such as civil engineering and architecture, aiming to provide an academic and technical communication platform for sc...
