Late Gothic Painting in the Crown of Aragon and the Hispanic Kingdoms
This book aims to analyze the genesis and evolution of late Gothic painting in the Crown of Aragon and the rest of the Hispanic kingdoms, examining this phenomenon in relation to the whole context of Europe in the second half of the fifteenth century. The authors consider the influence of the Flemish primitive movement on the art produced by their Spanish colleagues, the artistic relations and interchanges with the Netherlands and other countries, and the introduction and development of the Flemish language in the Spanish lands. The book also examines altarpieces, considering topics such as changes in shape and structure and liturgical links, along with offering stylistic analyses supported by new technologies. Toledo Cathedral
Medieval Toledo is famous as a center of Arabic learning and as a home to sizable Jewish, Muslim, and Christian communities. Yet its cathedral—one of the largest, richest, and best preserved in all of Europe—is little known outside Spain. In Toledo Cathedral, Tom Nickson provides the first in-depth analysis of the cathedral’s art and architecture. Focusing on the early thirteenth to the late fourteenth centuries, he examines over two hundred years of change and consolidation, tracing the growth of the cathedral in the city as well as the evolution of sacred places within the cathedral itself. He goes on to consider this substantial monument in terms of its location in Toledo, Spain’s most cosmopolitan city in the medieval period. Nickson also addresses the importance and symbolic significance of Toledo’s cathedral to the city and the art and architecture of the medieval Iberian Peninsula, showing how it fits in with broader narratives of change in the arts, culture, and ideology of the late medieval period in Spain and in Mediterranean Europe as a whole.

Annually published since 1930, the International Bibliography of Historical Sciences (IBOHS) is an international bibliography of the most important historical monographs and periodical articles published throughout the world, which deal with history from the earliest to the most recent times. The IBOHS is thus currently the only continuous bibliography of its kind covering such a broad period of time, spectrum of subjects and geographical range. The works are arranged systematically according to period, region or historical discipline, and alphabetically according to authors names or, in the case of anonymous works, by the characteristic main title word. The bibliography contains a geographical index and indexes of persons and authors.

Aquest corpus documental continua i completa una tasca duta a terme per grans historiadors com Roc Chabàs, Lluís Tramoyeres, Josep Sanchis Sivera, Manuel Betí o Lluís Cerveró. En aquest volum, coordinat per Ferran Garcia-Oliver i dirigit per Ximo Company, Lluïsa Tolosa i Joan Aliaga, al capdavant d'un ampli equip d'investigació, no sols s'ha reunit, revisat i novament compilat tot el que ja es coneixia, sinó que s'hi han aportat nombrosos documents inèdits, exhumats després d'una llarga i pacient investigació en nombrosos arxius valencians, des dels grans dipòsits de la ciutat de València (Arxiu del Regne, Arxiu Municipal, Arxiu de la Catedral, Arxiu de Protocols del Patriarca) fins als arxius locals d'altres poblacions valencianes i l'Arxiu Històric Nacional de Madrid.
