The Insulinotropic Gut Hormone Glucagon-like Peptide-1
Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) is a promising new therapeutic tool for the treatment of diabetes. Since the first reports describing its potent insulinotropic activity were published about a decade ago, knowledge of the incretin hormones, and GLP-1 in particular, has increased significantly.
