This book gathers peer-reviewed contributions presented at the International Conference on Construction Logistics, Equipment and Robotics (CLEaR), held at the TUM Academy Center Raitenhaslach near Munich, Germany on October 09-11, 2023. The contributions encompass three main themes, construction logistics, equipment and robotics, and cover a diverse range of topics such as supply chain management, process management, LEAN and industrialized construction, production systems, BIM and digtial twin, sensoric and embedded systems, zero emission and sustainability, autonomous machines, IIoT and collaborative machines, autonomous mobile robots, computer vision and perception systems, cloud/edge computing, and human robot interaction. They explore the latest findings in the field of construction industry, and discuss new perspectives and practices that will strengthen the role of construction logistics as part of the Industry 4.0.
The book presents the proceedings of the 5th EAI International Conference on Management of Manufacturing Systems (MMS 2020), which took place online on October 27-29, 2020. The conference covers the management of manufacturing systems with support for Industry 4.0, logistics and intelligent manufacturing systems and applications, cooperation management, and its effective applications. Topics include RFID applications, economic impacts in logistics, ICT support for Industry 4.0, industrial and smart Logistics, intelligent manufacturing systems and applications, and much more. The topic is of interest to researchers, practitioners, students, and academics in manufacturing and communications engineering.
EBES conferences have been intellectual hub for academic discussion in economics, finance, and business fields and provide network opportunities for participants to make long lasting academic cooperation. This is the 24th volume of the Eurasian Studies in Business and Economics (EBES’s official proceeding series) which includes selected papers from the 37th EBES Conference – Berlin. The conference was jointly organized with the GLO (Global Labour Organization, a global, independent, non-partisan and non-governmental organization based in Germany) with the support of the Istanbul Economic Research Association and in collaboration with the FOM University of Applied Sciences (Germany). Due to COVID-19, the conference presentation mode was virtual. In the conference, 177 papers by 379 colleagues from 54 countries were presented. Both theoretical and empirical papers in this volume cover diverse areas of business, economics, and finance from many different regions. Therefore, it provides a great opportunity to colleagues, professionals, and students to catch up with the most recent studies in different fields and empirical findings on many countries and regions.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 19th International Conference on Engineering Psychology and Cognitive Ergonomics, EPCE 2022, held as part of the 23rd International Conference, HCI International 2022, which was held virtually in June/July 2022. The total of 1271 papers and 275 posters included in the HCII 2022 proceedings was carefully reviewed and selected from 5487 submissions. The EPCE 2022 proceedings covers subjects such as advances in applied cognitive psychology that underpin the theory, measurement and methodologies behind the development of human-machine systems. Cognitive Ergonomics describes advances in the design and development of user interfaces.
This book shows how companies can practically implement the advantages of Industry 4.0 and digitalization and also addresses the current challenges with regard to engineering education for Industry 4.0. In this book, we collect the contributions of the 1st Symposium on Industrial Engineering and Automation (ISIEA 2022), which took place from June 21–22, 2022 at the Free University of Bolzano. The contributions cover three basic areas: (1) best practice examples and technical solutions for the implementation of Industry 4.0 in production and logistics, (2) management-oriented approaches for the digital transformation in companies, and (3) addressing Industry 4.0 in engineering education. The book targets different readers. Researchers find approaches to current research topics regarding Industry 4.0. Practitioners find valuable examples for technological implementations as well as management approaches for introducing digitalization. Students and lecturers find hints on how Industry 4.0 can be integrated into university teaching.
This book focuses on AI and data-driven technical and management innovations in logistics, informatics and services. The respective papers analyze in detail the latest fundamental advances in the state of the art and practice of logistics, informatics, service operations and service science. The book gathers the outcomes of the “9th International Conference on Logistics, Informatics and Service Sciences,” which was held at the University of Maryland, USA.
Proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics (AHFE 2023), July 20–24, 2023, San Francisco, USA
This book reports on research and developments in human-technology interaction. A special emphasis is given to human-computer interaction, and its implementation for a wide range of purposes such as healthcare, aerospace, telecommunication, and education, among others. The human aspects are analyzed in detail. Timely studies on human-centered design, wearable technologies, social and affective computing, augmented, virtual and mixed reality simulation, human rehabilitation and biomechanics represent the core of the book. Emerging technology applications in business, security, and infrastructure are also critically examined, thus offering a timely, scientifically-grounded, but also professionally-oriented snapshot of the current state of the field. The book is based on contributions presented at the 3rd International Conference on Human Interaction and Emerging Technologies: Future Applications, IHIET 2020, held on August 27-29, 2020. It offers a timely survey and a practice-oriented reference guide to researchers and professionals dealing with design and/or management of the new generation of service systems.
