Emmaus
This book is about discipleship and is a witness to God’s grace; seeing God in others and in creation; learning about God through church, scientific discovery, and theological education; preaching and pastoring; journeying with others; and teaching and exploring life and the world through theological reflection. The post-resurrection account of Jesus meeting two disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13–35) is the motif which is the central theme of the book and which shapes our reflection on the ways in which God calls and equips Christians in their life journey. It is a faith story that asks questions about how God acts in the world and in human lives; reflects on the nature of God and on God’s desire for every human life; and on sharing the good news of new possibilities for a life in Christ, a life in all the fullness that God has purposed, where the Christ who accompanies us on the road is able to make sense of our experiences. My hope is that readers will benefit from, and be challenged by, the testimony, theological reflection, and biblical exploration in this account of how we experience God’s grace and calling on our lives.

A Collection of Ball-dances Perform'd at Court
Dancer, teacher, and theoretician John Weaver (1673-1760) compiled this important collection of choreographies by Mr. Isaac. With melodies composed by James Paisible, the collection contains six ballroom dances: "The Richman," "The Rondeau," "The Rigadoon," "The Favorite," "The Spanheim," and "The Britannia." All are couple dances and are notated in a notation system first published in 1700 by dancing master Raoul-Auger Feuillet (1659 or 1660-1710). The system is based on tract drawings that trace the pattern of the dance. Additionally, bar lines in the dance score correspond to bar lines in the music score. Signs written on the right or left hand side of the tract indicate the steps.

The Failure of Evangelical Mental Health Care
In the evangelical community, a variety of alternative mental health treatments—deliverance/exorcism, biblical counseling, reparative therapy and many others—have been proposed for the treatment of mentally ill, female and LGBT evangelicals. This book traces the history of these methods, focusing on the major proponents of each therapeutic system while also examining mainstream evangelical psychology. The author concludes that in the majority of cases mental disorders are blamed on two main issues—sin and demonic possession/oppression—and that as a result some communities have become a mental health underclass who are ill-served or oppressed by both alternative and mainstream evangelical therapeutic systems. He argues that the only recourse left for mentally ill, female and LGBT evangelicals is to rally for reform and increased accountability for both professional and alternative evangelical practitioners.
