Jonathan Andrew Jones (1845-1902), a son of Hiram Stewart Jones and Nancy Ann Holt, was born in Pennsylvania. He married Mary Lamb Jarrett (1847-1922), a daughter of Thomas Morris Jarrett and Ellen W. McShane, in 1868. They had eleven children. Many descendants live in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Maryland.
