Description by Bonomi of his design for the stables and other out-offices at! Lambton Hall, Co. Durham, (3p. on 1 leaf, holograph), no date [1795].
Bonomi describes the obelisk standing near the village of Materiah, Egypt (supposed to be the site of Heliopolis). He presents to the RIBA a cast made from a slate model of the obelisk made for Lord Prudhoe. He also presents a plaster impression of a medallion of Queen Victoria executed in the egyptian style, which he had proposed for the coinage.
Bonomi is having casts made of fragments of the Karnak obelisks, at the expence of Mr Hay [Robert Hay, 1799-1863, egyptologist], to illustrate a dissertation to be read at the RIBA on 16 January. He also offers to exhibit a copy, being made for Lord Prudhoe, of the larger of the two standing Karnak obelisks.
In answer to Cockerell's enquiries [re. Egypt]: gives details on the "Fayoum" [Faiyum] canal [seems to be referring to the canalisation of the river Bahr Yusuf, in El Faiyum province], also Egyptian brick and stonework and the obelisks at Luxor and Karnak. Includes rough illustration of the obelisk at Karnak.
The award is attested by two members of the Institute, Antonio Beccadelli, Director of Drawing, and Vincenzo Mazza, Director of Architecture.
He has been researching a copy of Vitruvius [De Architectura] edited by Joannes Sulpicius; he believes it was published between 1477 and 1492and gives his reasons for this; hopes Robert Mylne may be able to help further his research.
Presents to the RIBA sketches of the marbles from the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus at Bodrum, Turkey.
