The Impact of Industrialization on the Structure of Female Employment
Research conducted in the city of Ŝo Paulo with female workers in textile and garment industries showed that each had its own specific characteristics in terms of the work process and labor force. It is argued that these differences are a product of the technological sophistication of the textile industry vis the handicraft nature of the garment industry. The purpose of this paper is to examine some dimension of the effect of late industrialization in Brazil on female workers' lives. Census data are presented to show how economic growth affected the evolution of the female sector of the labor force. Then empirical data are presented to provide a picture of the life of a part of this population.
Fundamentos da Regulação Bancária e a Aplicação do Princípio da Subsidiariedade
O presente livro navega pelo ambiente da regulação bancária e os aparentes conflitos que são encontrados quando da aplicação das matérias transversais ao setor financeiro. E, a fim de elucidar este aparente conflito, recorre-se a uma nova teoria da regulação para definir o alcance da regulação bancária e quais são os organismos competentes para melhor aplicá-la. Toda a complexidade do ambiente da atividade bancária, os fundamentos para sua regulação, bem como, sua interação com os princípios fundantes da ordem econômica, principalmente a defesa da concorrência e a proteção dos consumidores, gera a necessidade da aplicação do Princípio da Subsidiariedade para definir as competências entre os diversos organismos responsáveis pela guarda das regulações setoriais e geral. Por fim, como esta aplicação acontece dentro do ordenamento jurídico brasileiro e do mercado bancário é tema conclusivo, apontando uma solução aos inúmeros litígios administrativos e judiciais que trazem enormes custos a nossa sociedade.
