Behavioral Pharmacology
Behavioral pharmacology studies the biological bases of behavior and the pharmacological effects of natural or synthetic drugs through behavioral analysis, with the identification of substances that could contribute to improvement of the quality of life for humans. Through behavioral pharmacology, it is possible to generate knowledge about pharmacological bases that influence the normal or altered behavior from a multidisciplinary point of view, and which includes diverse areas of science. The purpose of this book “Behavioral Pharmacology- From Basic to Clinical Research” is to show some of the advances in the identification of pharmacological properties of natural and synthetic molecules that may be used in the development of pharmacological therapies destined for the treatment of illness and disorders that affect the wellness of humans.
Menopause
Menopause is a natural state of development in women, but it is also a period of vulnerability to the development of several disorders, such as vasomotor symptoms, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, osteoporosis, cognitive deterioration, depression, and anxiety. Factors as diverse as culture, diet, exercise, maternity, age, and genetics can influence the severity of symptoms that are experienced during menopause and can modify the response to diverse therapies. Studying menopause from a multidisciplinary perspective will help elucidate the different factors that affect health during this specific stage of a woman's life. This book presents several aspects of menopause, including its evolutionary origins, novel nonhormonal therapies, and the neurobiology of related disorders.

Exploring the Key Targets and Compounds That Manipulate Brain Neurocircuits Against Mental Disorders and Psychiatric
With the development of brain science, modulating neural circuits and brain networks is increasingly being considered a treatment for neurological disorders. Neurological disorders can be precisely alleviated or reversed using optogenetic techniques and analysis of neural circuits, and this also illustrates the shortcomings of traditional pharmacological manners that target single molecular targets, such as GABA receptors with anti-anxiety and 5-HT receptors with antidepressants. While traditional psychotropic drugs are generally developed based on a single molecular target, modulating neural circuits and neural networks by neuropharmacology approaches is a challenge that pharmacology must focus on and cope with in the future.

Integrative Pharmacology-based Research on Traditional Medicine: Methodologies, Medical and Pharmacological Applications
ntegrative Pharmacology can be used to determine the multi-pharmacological effects of traditional medicines such as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Kampo, Sa-sang, Ayurveda, etc.). Through qualitative and quantitative pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) correlations among multi-constituents and multi-targets, integrating chemical profiling, ADME/PK processes, molecular network calculation and resulting experimental validation, the use of Integrative Pharmacology has become widespread. The data has provided a novel paradigm to evaluate the druggability of bioactive ingredients of herbs or formulae, to decipher the pharmacological mechanisms of drug action and to screen potentially new indications for approved drugs and previously unidentified adverse events. On this basis, Integrative Pharmacology may offer an effective way to test the potential scientific basis for traditional medicines and to assess what roles of traditional medicine can and cannot play in pharmaceuticals.
