This book offers an innovative, exciting and dynamic way to study American history, culture and society since it covers the history of the nation from the colonial period up to the 20th century. The book is divided into two different, but connected, parts. The first section details not only how important primary sources (texts, maps, images...) are, but also how to analyze them in a scholarly manner. This part will help students in retrieving, testing and quoting online references when studying or writing their American History essays and exams. Mammoths and Neanderthals in the Thames Valley
This richly illustrated book gives a detailed account of excavations that extended over ten years at Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire, following the discovery of a mammoth tusk in 1989. More than 1500 vertebrate fossils and a wealth of other biological material were recorded and recovered, along with 36 stone artefacts attributable to Neanderthals.
