Una de las cumbres literarias españolas de todos los tiempos. Libro de buen amor trata de los amores frustrados o no correspondidos de Juan Ruiz, Arcipreste de Hita. Como si fuera una autobiografía amorosa, el autor dibuja una época tolerante y plural donde también aparece el conflicto entre las culturas cristiana, judía y musulmana. En esta obra, por su originalidad la más representativa de la literatura medieval, resalta el humor a pesar de que el narrador -sacerdote y pecador-, con intención didáctica, aconseje a hombres y mujeres evitar los pecados de la carne.
