The Traditional Literature of Cambodia
This book offers a comprehensive guide to the "classical" literature of Cambodia, manuscripts written on palm-leaf or Chinese paper between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries. Jacob includes alphabetically arranged inventory of the authors and their works. In addition, she provides summaries of the best-known folk tales and "verse novels," descriptions of genres, and a full bibliography of texts, translations, and studies.

Reamker (Rāmakerti)
Cambodian epic poem, based on the Sanskrit's Ramayana epic. The name means "Glory of Rama". It adapts the Hindu ideas to Buddhist themes and shows the balance of good and evil in the world. Like the Ramayana, it is a philosophical allegory, exploring the ideals of justice and fidelity as embodied by the protagonists, Prince Rama and Queen Sita. The epic is well known among the Khmer people for its portrayal in Khmer dance theatre, called the L'khaon, in various festivals across Cambodia. Scenes from the Reamker are painted on the walls of the Royal Palace in Khmer style, and its predecessor is carved into the walls of the Angkor Wat and Banteay Srei temples. It is considered an integral part of Cambodian culture.
Genealogical Records; Manuscript Entries of Births, Deaths and Marriages, Taken from Family Bibles, 1581-1917
This present volume contains the genealogical records found in family Bibles of ninety Dutch and English New York families. Ranging as far back as the 16th century, though usually with a beginning date in the 17th or 18th century, the Bibles exhibit a wealth of genealogical data featuring, in particular, chronological records of births, marriages, and deaths. Well over 3,000 names are listed in the index.
