The Marriage Institution was not by any stretch of the imagination a human devising. It was not even a cultural invention. God is the creator of the Marriage Institution. He created it to demonstrate His Fatherly love for the human family. He also performed the first wedding ceremony in the Garden of Eden and gave it a definition as a lifelong union enjoined by "two distinct individuals, who are genetically identical and yet each containing within itself something lacking in the other and complimentary to each other."

Automation, Skills and the Future of Work: What do Workers Think?

We exploit a survey data set that contains information on how 11,000 workers across advanced and emerging market economies perceive the main forces shaping the future of work. In general, workers feel more positive than negative about automation, especially in emerging markets. We find that negative perceptions about automation are prevalent among workers who are older, poorer, more exposed to job volatility, and from countries with higher levels of robot penetration. Perceptions over automation are positively viewed by workers with higher levels of job satisfaction, higher educational attainment, and from countries with stronger labor protection. Workers with positive perceptions of automation also tend to respond that re-education and retraining will be needed to adapt to rapidly evolving skill demands. These workers expect governments to have a role in shaping the future of work through protection of labor and new forms of social benefits. The demand for protection and benefits is more significant among women and workers that have suffered job volatility.

Does this sound familiar: A woman in relationship with a man finds herself complaining that he can't just listen and try to understand her feelings and experience? During arguments, he acts like he's being attacked and tries to prove he's right with the "the facts?" When she's upset, he accuses her of over-reacting; when he's upset, he insists that nothing is wrong? Don't give up. Men, Women, and the Power of Empathy breaks this painful stalemate. It helps you and your partner gain understanding and practical strategies to fully tap the benefits of an empathic connection. Working together, you will learn to let go of being "right"; avoid having to "fix it"; express "clean" anger; know more of what you feel; and care for your relationship as a separate entity. Yes, men have difficulty grasping the entirety of empathy. When you both understand and respect his hidden vulnerabilities, what threatens and shames him, behind his defensive mask, you will find he can lower his guard and reveal the empathic person he is capable of being. As he does, you will experience more of the closeness you crave, bringing a powerful, lasting change to your relationship.

The Resilient Enterprise

The Covid-19 crisis caused massive disruptions to businesses around the world. Many were caught unprepared by the pandemic, putting some in danger of collapse. But not all were equally affected—some emerged from the crisis in a position of advantage. Research on corporate performance over decades shows that the dispersion between companies consistently increases in times of crisis. In other words, resilience to unexpected shocks has a disproportionate impact on long-term competitive advantage. Furthermore, ongoing trends are making it harder for businesses to sustain success over time. New offerings are being adopted, matched, and made obsolete faster, and competitive advantage is becoming...
