The total of 82 papers presented in these volumes was carefully reviewed and selected from 179 submissions. The papers were organized in topical sections as follows: Part I: Novel methods and algorithms for optimization; particle swarm optimization; ant colony optimization; fireworks algorithms and brain storm optimization; swarm intelligence algorithms and improvements; genetic algorithm and differential evolution; swarm robotics. Part II: Multi-agent system; multi-objective optimization; neural networks; machine learning; identification and recognition; social computing and knowledge graph; service quality and energy management.
This two-volume set of LNCS 13393 and LNCS 13394 constitutes - in conjunction with the volume LNAI 13395 - the refereed proceedings of the 18th International Conference on Intelligent Computing, ICIC 2022, held in Xi'an, China, in August 2022. The 209 full papers of the three proceedings volumes were carefully reviewed and selected from 449 submissions. This year, the conference concentrated mainly on the theories and methodologies as well as the emerging applications of intelligent computing. Its aim was to unify the picture of contemporary intelligent computing techniques as an integral concept that highlights the trends in advanced computational intelligence and bridges theoretical research with applications. Therefore, the theme for this conference was “Advanced Intelligent Computing Technology and Applications”. Papers focused on this theme were solicited, addressing theories, methodologies, and applications in science and technology.

Smart drug delivery refers to a targeted drug delivery or precision drug delivery system that allows drugs to be administered to a specific location in the body or at a specific time with enhanced precision and control. This approach has several advantages, including maximizing the therapeutic effects of a drug while minimizing side effects. This book presents various stimuli-responsive micro- and nanomaterials for pharmaceutical industries. This volume: Covers the global market perspective of micro- and nano-smart materials in pharmaceutical industries. Details various processing routes. Discusses mechanisms for target release. Addresses applications in oral drug delivery, anticancer agents, anti-tumor drug delivery, and drugs for management of infection. This reference work is written to support researchers in the fields of materials engineering and biotechnology with the goal of improving the diagnosis and treatment of disease and patient quality of life.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th International Workshop on Distributed Computing, IWDC 2004, held in Kolkata, India in December 2004. The 27 revised full papers and 27 revised short papers presented together with 3 invited contributions and abstracts of 11 reviewed workshop papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 157 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on distributed algorithms, high-performance computing, distributed systems, wireless networks, information security, network protocols, reliability and testing, network topology and routing, mobile computing, ad-hoc networks, and sensor networks.
The recent development of communication and sensor technology results in the growth of a new attractive and challenging area - wireless sensor networks (WSNs). A wireless sensor network which consists of a large number of sensor nodes is deployed in environmental fields to serve various applications. Facilitated with the ability of wireless communication and intelligent computation, these nodes become smart sensors which do not only perceive ambient physical parameters but also be able to process information, cooperate with each other and self-organize into the network. These new features assist the sensor nodes as well as the network to operate more efficiently in terms of both data acquisi...
