Post-Quantum Cryptography
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Post-Quantum Cryptography, PQCrypto 2008, held in Cincinnati, OH, USA, in October 2008. The 15 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. Quantum computers are predicted to break existing public key cryptosystems within the next decade. Post-quantum cryptography is a new fast developing area, where public key schemes are studied that could resist these emerging attacks. The papers present four families of public key cryptosystems that have the potential to resist quantum computers: the code-based public key cryptosystems, the hash-based public key cryptosystems, the lattice-based public key cryptosystems and the multivariate public key cryptosystems.
Intelligent Nanosystems for Energy, Information and Biological Technologies
This book gives a state-of-the-art view by recognized researchers of the nanotechnologies required for future integrated systems leading to innovations in energy, the environment, and biotechnologies. Nanostructures that would be difficult to form using the current semiconductor technology will be realized using a combination of bottom-up and top-down processes, including hybrid nanostructures made of inorganic and organic/biological materials. Bio-sensing, imaging, and cell or molecular manipulation are discussed in Chapters 2–7. The acquisition of basic knowledge on the cellular level will lead to curing serious diseases. Advances in Organic Crystal Chemistry
For the last decade, the topics of organic crystal chemistry have become diversified, and each topic has been substantially advanced in concert with the rapid development of various analytical and measurement techniques for solid-state organic materials. The aim of this book is to systematically summarize and record the recent notable advances in various topics of organic crystal chemistry involving liquid crystals and organic–inorganic hybrid materials that have been achieved mainly in the last 5 years or so.
