This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the First Latin-American Symposium on Dependable Computing, LADC 2003, held in Sao Paulo, Brazil in October 2003. The 21 revised full papers presented together with abstracts of invited talks, a panel, workshops, and tutorials were carefully reviewed and selected for presentation. The papers are organized in topical sections on fault injection, security, adaptive fault tolerance, distributed algorithms, and components and fault tolerance.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 21st International Conference on Computer Safety, Reliability and Security, SAFECOMP 2002, held in Catania, Italy in September 2002. The 27 revised papers presented together with 3 keynote presentations were carefully reviewed and selected from 69 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on human-computer system dependability, human factors, security, dependability assessment, application of formal methods, reliability assessment, design for dependability, and safety assessment.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 30th International Conference on Computer Safety, Reliability, and Security, SAFECOMP 2011, held in Naples, Italy, in September 2011. The 34 full papers presented together were carefully reviewed and selected from 100 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on RAM evaluation, complex systems dependability, formal verification, risk and hazard analysis, cybersecurity and optimization methods.
The design of computer systems to be embedded in critical real-time applications is a complex task. Such systems must not only guarantee to meet hard real-time deadlines imposed by their physical environment, they must guarantee to do so dependably, despite both physical faults (in hardware) and design faults (in hardware or software). A fault-tolerance approach is mandatory for these guarantees to be commensurate with the safety and reliability requirements of many life- and mission-critical applications. This book explains the motivations and the results of a collaborative project', whose objective was to significantly decrease the lifecycle costs of such fault tolerant systems. The end-us...
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 25th International Conference on Computer Safety, Reliability, and Security, SAFECOMP 2006. The 32 revised full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 101 submissions. Topical sections include systems of systems, security and survivability analysis, nuclear safety and application of standards, formal approaches, networks dependability, coping with change and mobility, safety analysis and assessment, 6th FP integrated project DECOS, and modelling.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th International Workshop on Software Engineering for Resilient Systems, SERENE 2015, held in Paris, France, in September 2015. The 10 revised technical papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 18 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on development of resilient systems, verification, validation and evaluation of resilience, case studies and applications.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of 5 workshops co-located with SAFECOMP 2015, the 34th International Conference on Computer Safety, Reliability, and Security, held in Delft, The Netherlands, in September 2015. The 36 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. This year’s workshop are: ASSURE 2015 - Assurance Cases for Software-intensive Systems; DECSoS'15 - EWICS/ERCIM/ARTEMIS Dependable Cyber-physical Systems and Systems-of-Systems Workshop; ISSE'15 - International workshop on the Integration of Safety and Security Engineering; ReSA4CI 2015 - International Workshop on Reliability and Security Aspects for Critical Infrastructure Protection; SASSUR 2015 - International Workshop on Next Generation of System Assurance Approaches for Safety-Critical Systems.
This textbook intends to be a comprehensive and substantially self-contained two-volume book covering performance, reliability, and availability evaluation subjects. The volumes focus on computing systems, although the methods may also be applied to other systems. The first volume covers Chapter 1 to Chapter 14, whose subtitle is ``Performance Modeling and Background". The second volume encompasses Chapter 15 to Chapter 25 and has the subtitle ``Reliability and Availability Modeling, Measuring and Workload, and Lifetime Data Analysis". This text is helpful for computer performance professionals for supporting planning, design, configuring, and tuning the performance, reliability, and availab...
This year we celebrated another anniversary: after 20 years of SAFECOMP in 1999, th this was the 20 SAFECOMP since its inauguration in 1979. This series of events focuses on critical computer applications. It is intended to be a platform for knowledge transfer between academia, industry, and research institutions. Papers are solicited on all aspects of computer systems in which safety, reliability, and security (applied to safety in terms of integrity and availability) are of importance. The 20th SAFECOMP tried to cover new grounds, both thematically and geographically. The previous 19 SAFECOMPs were held in Austria (1989, 1996), France (1987, 1999), Germany (1979, 1988, 1998), Great Britain...
