Estudos descritivos sobre os direitos específicos dos povos indígenas atuais, bem como sobre processos históricos, pretéritos e contemporâneos, de luta por tais direitos e pela sua efetivação. A obra conta com autores de diversas regiões do Brasil e, embora por focos diferenciados de cada autor(a), tem uma essência una, que é, por meio da escrita e da denúncia acadêmica, a luta por uma maior valorização e um maior respeito das/às culturas indígenas brasileiras, as quais representam nossas origens.

Portanto, o objetivo, ao reunir essas diferentes visões em torno da temática indígena, é promover a reflexão e o respeito aos mais de 305 povos indígenas, falantes de mais de 274 línguas existentes no Brasil. Cabe destacar que todos os estudos presentes nesta coletânea estão diretamente ligados com a temática indígena e juntos reafirmam a necessidade de dar voz e espaço para essas sociedades se reafirmarem.

Meshless Methods in Biomechanics
This book presents the complete formulation of a new advanced discretization meshless technique: the Natural Neighbour Radial Point Interpolation Method (NNRPIM). In addition, two of the most popular meshless methods, the EFGM and the RPIM, are fully presented. Being a truly meshless method, the major advantages of the NNRPIM over the FEM and other meshless methods, are the remeshing flexibility and the higher accuracy of the obtained variable field. Using the natural neighbour concept, the NNRPIM permits to determine organically the influence-domain, resembling the cellulae natural behaviour. This innovation permits the analysis of convex boundaries and extremely irregular meshes, which is an advantage in the biomechanical analysis, with no extra computational effort associated. This volume shows how to extend the NNRPIM to the bone tissue remodelling analysis, expecting to contribute with new numerical tools and strategies in order to permit a more efficient numerical biomechanical analysis.
African Dynamics in a Multipolar World
Fifty years after the foundation of the OAU and the consolidation of most African states and institutions, the international panorama and Africa’s position in it have changed considerably. The world's geopolitical and economic configuration has evolved, with new actors appearing in a new period of globalization. In tone with ECAS 2013, this volume proposes that the experiences appearing in Africa question dominant paradigms in terms of political practice and academic reflection and thus offer a clear challenge to the academic community. The volume offers clues to answer questions such as: What is the impact of the current processes of globalization for African countries and African citizens? How should African Studies be engaged to gauge African dynamics, both at a local and global level?
