Reclaiming Artistic Research
This expanded second edition of Reclaiming Artistic Research explores artistic research in dialogue with 24 artists worldwide, reclaiming it from academic associations of the term. Embracing artists' dynamic engagement with other fields, it foregrounds the material, spatial, embodied, organizational, choreographic, and technological ways of knowing and unknowing specific to contemporary artistic inquiry. The second edition features a new text by the author and four new artist dialogues to reflect on the changing stakes of artistic research in the wake of the global pandemic, a widespread reckoning with social justice, the growing role of artificial intelligence, and the urgent reality of climate change. LUCY COTTER (*1973, Ireland) is a writer, curator, and artist. She was Curator of the Dutch Pavilion, 57th Venice Biennale, 2017, and Curator in Residence at Oregon Center for Contemporary Art 2021–22. The inaugural director of the Master Artistic Research, Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, Cotter has lectured internationally, most recently at Portland State University. She holds a project residency at Stelo Arts and Culture Foundation 2023-24.
Rotterdam Dialogues
This book juxtaposes three distinct agents in the art world - the critics, curators and artists of its title - adopting the conversational form of three large-scale symposia that took place at Witte de With, Center for Contemporary Art, in the fall of 2008 and the spring of 2009. In addition to transcripts from selected dialogues and the outcomes of three guest-led workshops, it also contains spirited contributions that arrived from many of the participants in the months that followed the 'Rotterdam dialogues' opening another dimension of the discussions held in front of a large audience. At stake here are questions of cultural agency, audience and production, ranging from the concrete to the speculative.

Technical Specifications
Saâdane Afif's illustrated monograph, titled Technical Specifications builds upon Afif's eponymous exhibition at Witte de With and explores his multiform practice to date. The book also features a CD recording of 53:56 some words, the radio program created as an integral part of the Witte de With exhibition and broadcast across the Netherlands throughout the summer. The two writers, Daniel Baumann and Ina Blom, who were invited to respond to the exhibition have evoked the way in which Afif's practice is reminiscent of a hall of mirrors: self-reflexive to the point of Narcissism, whilst at the same time exemplary of an openness and intellectual generosity that is rarely seen in contemporary art. Last Year at Betty and Bob's: A Novelty is the first in a series of novellas emerging from a writing practice that taps the cusp of consciousness between dreaming and waking. A storyline, or genealogy, tinted a shade of RGB blue, is fashioned by thinking through the felt unthought of this between space. A fabulation, an anarchive of what passes through. Lucid dreaming of this type is rife with allusions to conceptual and material goings-on, manifesting in awkward imaginaries. The dream personas are rendered as complex character amalgams with nomadic ages, sexes, genders and phenotypes. Occurrences of lived "fact" elide with a hallucinatory real as speculation.
