JACKSON I’m not the good guy in this story. I’m the man your mother told you to avoid. Because I can’t commit to anything (or anyone) that isn’t one of my investigation cases. Especially when my PI business is hanging on by a thin thread. That is, until she returns. Sexy, frustrating lawyer Penelope Castalano. The woman I once was crazy enough to fall for. She has her hands on my newest case—a case that could save my career. And I want my hands on her. Guess that means I have to commit to something after all: My work…or Penelope. If I were a good guy, I’d pick the less deadly option—an assignment to keep tabs on a senator, one rife with murder, mafia and mayhem. Because the other option, Penelope, is infinitely more dangerous…and being bad has never felt better. AUTHOR’S NOTE: The Investigator is a steamy suspenseful romance and is part of a series of full-length novels in the Gafanelli Mob series. It contains foul-mouthed characters, lots of twists and plenty of heat. If any of these doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, please do not read.
