Global education is a movement which aims to better prepare our children & youth for an ever increasingly interdependent world by helping them to learn about those problems & issues which cut across national boundaries, & about the interconnectedness of systems: cultural, ecological, economic, political, & technological. In this book, individual school global education projects at ten quite different schools from around the country are described. In each case, the author(s) tell about the setting at the beginning of the program: the community, the student body, the faculty, the school, the curriculum. Each project & how it was initiated is described; the various leadership roles of key persons are noted: superintendents, principals, teachers; linkages to global education knowledge are observed; problems which have arisen & prospects for the future are noted; & common themes which emerge from the various case studies are examined.
