Constanze Mozart
Constanze Mozart, geb. Weber (1762-1842), war neun Jahre lang mit dem schon zu Lebzeiten berühmten Komponisten Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart verheiratet. Als dieser am 5. Dezember 1791 starb, hinterließ er eine knapp 30-jährige Witwe, deren Leben sich nach einer nicht immer leichten, aber doch glücklichen Ehe nun von Grund auf änderte. Constanze blieb mit zwei Söhnen zurück und stellte ihr ganzes weiteres Leben – auch zusammen mit ihrem zweiten Ehemann, Georg Nikolaus Nissen – in den Dienst der Erinnerung an Leben und Werk des großen Komponisten. Damit legte sie den Grundstein für das bis heute ungebrochene Interesse an Mozarts Musik. Viveca Servatius würdigt in ihrer umfassenden Biographie den Werdegang und die verdienstvollen Leistungen Constanze Mozarts und räumt dabei mit einigen Vor- und Fehlurteilen der Musikgeschichtsschreibung auf.
