This book gathers peer-reviewed contributions presented at the International Conference on Construction Logistics, Equipment and Robotics (CLEaR), held at the TUM Academy Center Raitenhaslach near Munich, Germany on October 09-11, 2023. The contributions encompass three main themes, construction logistics, equipment and robotics, and cover a diverse range of topics such as supply chain management, process management, LEAN and industrialized construction, production systems, BIM and digtial twin, sensoric and embedded systems, zero emission and sustainability, autonomous machines, IIoT and collaborative machines, autonomous mobile robots, computer vision and perception systems, cloud/edge computing, and human robot interaction. They explore the latest findings in the field of construction industry, and discuss new perspectives and practices that will strengthen the role of construction logistics as part of the Industry 4.0.
This work contains proceedings of a workshop on Bifurcation and Localisation Theory in Geomechanics, held in Perth, Australia in 1999. It covers a range of themes from classic civil engineering subjects to non-linear and non-unique geological phenomena.
This interdisciplinary volume comprises papers from several fields related to compaction. Topics include: soil compaction for pavements and roads; deep soil compaction by vibration, impact and underground explosion; compaction control; and compaction processes in engineering.
The main objective of FEEMCE 2013 is to provide a platform for researchers, engineers, academicians as well as industrial professionals from all over the world to present their research results and development activities in Energy, Environmental Materials and Civil Engineering. This conference provides opportunities for the delegates to exchange new ideas and experiences face to face, to establish business or research relations and to find global partners for future collaboration.
All civil engineering and construction projects require some sort of solid foundation, but ground conditions bring some degree of uncertainty to every project. Dealing properly with uncertainty over ground conditions can make the difference between the commercial success and failure of a project. With the costs of failing to accurately predict groun
The topics discussed in this text range from quasi-static problems to dynamic problems, and are divided into 15 groups, such as: cohesion/cracking; wave propagation; and quasi-static behaviour. Each group contains theoretical, experimental and computational approaches by researchers.
The 16th ICSMGE responds to the needs of the engineering and construction community, promoting dialog and exchange between academia and practice in various aspects of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering. This is reflected in the central theme of the conference 'Geotechnology in Harmony with the Global Environment'. The proceedings of the conference are of great interest for geo-engineers and researchers in soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering. Volume 1 contains 5 plenary session lectures, the Terzaghi Oration, Heritage Lecture, and 3 papers presented in the major project session. Volumes 2, 3, and 4 contain papers with the following topics: Soil mechanics in general; Infrastructure and mobility; Environmental issues of geotechnical engineering; Enhancing natural disaster reduction systems; Professional practice and education. Volume 5 contains the report of practitioner/academic forum, 20 general reports, a summary of the sessions and workshops held during the conference.
In Germany, classic conflict resolution through the construction process has been in the firing line for years. In search of practical solutions, the focus in recent times has been increasingly directed towards extrajudicial dispute resolutions by adjudication. The author begins by examining the procedure of a conflict resolution carried out by a Dispute Adjudication Board according to the current contractual terms of the international construction practice of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC). Based on this reference model, the adjudication models developed for the German market are systematised and critically assessed. In closing, the requirements for legal implementation of the adjudication procedure in Germany are outlined and summarised in draft legislation.
