Multilevel Strategic Interaction Game Models for Complex Networks
This book provides a state-of-the-art overview on the dynamics and coevolution in multi-level strategic interaction games. As such it summarizes the results of the European CONGAS project, which developed new mathematical models and tools for the analysis, prediction and control of dynamical processes in systems possessing a rich multi-level structure and a web of interwoven interactions among elements with autonomous decision-making capabilities. The framework is built around game theoretical concepts, in particular evolutionary and multi-resolution games, and includes also techniques drawn from graph theory, statistical mechanics, control and optimization theory. Specific attention is devoted to systems that are prone to intermittency and catastrophic events due to the effect of collective dynamics.

Algorithms and Models for the Web-Graph
This volume constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th Workshop on - gorithms and Models for the Web Graph, WAW 2009, held in Barcelona in February 2009. The World Wide Web has become part of our everyday life, and information retrieval and data mining on the Web are now of enormous practical interest. The algorithms supporting these activities combine the view of the Web as a text repository and as a graph, induced in various ways by links among pages, links among hosts, or other similar networks. We also witness an increasing role of the second-generation Web-based applications Web 2.0, such as social networking sites and wiki sites. The workshop program consisted of 14 regular papers and two invited talks. The invited talks were given by Ravi Kumar (Yahoo! Research, USA) and Jos´ e Fernando Mendes (University of Aveiro, Portugal). The regular papers went through a thorough review process. Discrete Event Systems: Analysis and Control is the proceedings of WODES2000 (the 5th Workshop on Discrete Event Systems, held in Ghent, Belgium, on August 21-23, 2000).
