Jacob Sherk Brubacher was born in Juniata County, Penn. in 1813. He married Magdalena Shelley (1818-1846) and after her death, Anna Kurtz (1823-1898). Daniel Sherk Brubacher was born in 1819 in Penn. He married Harriett Martin (1815-1888). In 1869 they moved to Stark County, Ohio. Both brothers served as deacons in the Mennonite Church in their respective states.
