Francis Asbury Norwood was born 5 September 1858. His parents were John Ruben Norwood and Margaret. He married Laura Elizabeth Reece 19 October 1883 in Cocke County, Tennessee. They had eleven children. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in England, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
William Shurtleff (1624-1666) immigrated in 1634 from England (probably Ecclesfield) to Plymouth, Massachusetts. He married Elizabeth Lettice in 1655, and died in Marshfield, Massachusetts. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsyl- vania, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Iowa and elsewhere.

Noah Mollett was born sometime after 1750. He married Nancy and they lived in Virginia. Their son, Nathan, married Tamasine Stafford in about 1810 and they had five children. He married Rutha Dixon in about 1823 and they had one child. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio.
