Machine Learning-Based Bug Handling in Large-Scale Software Development

This thesis investigates the possibilities of automating parts of the bug handling process in large-scale software development organizations. The bug handling process is a large part of the mostly manual, and very costly, maintenance of software systems. Automating parts of this time consuming and very laborious process could save large amounts of time and effort wasted on dealing with bug reports. In this thesis we focus on two aspects of the bug handling process, bug assignment and fault localization. Bug assignment is the process of assigning a newly registered bug report to a design team or developer. Fault localization is the process of finding where in a software architecture the fault...

Scalable and Efficient Probabilistic Topic Model Inference for Textual Data

Probabilistic topic models have proven to be an extremely versatile class of mixed-membership models for discovering the thematic structure of text collections. There are many possible applications, covering a broad range of areas of study: technology, natural science, social science and the humanities. In this thesis, a new efficient parallel Markov Chain Monte Carlo inference algorithm is proposed for Bayesian inference in large topic models. The proposed methods scale well with the corpus size and can be used for other probabilistic topic models and other natural language processing applications. The proposed methods are fast, efficient, scalable, and will converge to the true posterior d...

Agricultural biocatalysis is of immense scientific interest nowadays owing to its increasing importance in the efforts for more sustainable agriculture while optimizing environmental impacts. Plant compatibility is essential for developing eco-friendly and sustainable microbial products. Therefore, our search for novel technologies ought to be in the foreground, for which a thorough understanding of biochemical processes, application of agricultural enzymes, traits, and viruses get the highest priority. Volumes 8 to 10 in this series compile the recent research on agricultural biocatalysis by interdisciplinary teams from international institutes for chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, an...

Urban Diaspora

This is a book on the rise and fall of diasporic communities in Early Modern urban centers in Denmark and Sweden. It contains 17 chapters written by archaeologists, historians and scientists, ranging from in-depth studies of artefacts, biofacts and archaeological features to large-scale analyses of community formation among natives and migrants of multiple origins. The plethora of sources and approaches afforded by the numerous disciplines involved enables a significant new insight into the creation and recreation of migrant communities in these Early Modern towns.

In this book, 15 papers, covering some of the latest advances in pretreatment and bioconversion of crop residues, are presented. Research results dealing with wheat straw, corn stover, sweet sorghum bagasse, hazelnut shells, oil palm empty fruit bunch, olive tree pruning biomass, and other residues of crop harvest and processing are discussed. Pretreatment methods, such as auto-catalyzed and acid-catalyzed hydrothermal processing, steaming, alkaline methods, and different organosolv approaches, are reported. Bioconversion with enzymes and microbes for producing fermentable sugars, xylitol, and biomethane are also included.

Kommos: An Excavation on the South Coast of Crete, Volume I, Part I

Kommos, located on the south coast of Crete, is widely known for its important sanctuary of the Greek period. and for its earlier role as a major Minoan harbortown. Volumes II and III of this series on the results of the major excavations there have already been published. Now Part I of Volume I offers a general introduction to the site with chapters on the history and character of its excavation seen within the context of earlier archaeological exploration of the Mesara Plain and specifically in the Kommos area (Joseph W. Shaw) and studies on the geomorphology (John A. Gifford), the flora (C. Thomas Shay and Jennifer M. Shay, with Katherine A. Frego and Janusz Zwiazek) and the fauna (David ...
