Biblical Moses and the last king of Mari Zimri-Lim are the same person

Based on the following parallels, this book states that the last king of Mari, Zimri-Lim (Yahudin-Lim's adopted son), and the biblical Moses are the same person. Thus, Zimri-Lim in his youth organized an unsuccessful coup against Sūmû-Jamam (Bibl.: Pharaoh's overseer), who was the governor of Šamši-Adad I (bibl. Pharaoh-oppressor) in Mari, and fled to the neighboring Yamhad (bibl. "to the land of Midian"). There he married the granddaughter of the king Šumu-Epuh (bibl. Jethro) and lived there for 20 years (1794-1774 BC). After the death of Šamši-Adad I, he acceded to the throne of Mari with the help of his father-in-law Yarīm-Lîm I (bibl. Reuel), who was the heir of Šumu-Epuh. Afte...

Lim Kim San

Lim Kim San's name is linked inextricably to Singapore's public housing. This is entirely appropriate because he played a crucial role in the success of the Housing Board, which transformed both the country's physical landscape and gave Singaporeans a tangible stake in the future of their young nation. However, important though Lim's role was at the Board and as Minister for National Development, it was not his sole contribution to Singapore. He made a decisive difference in several other key areas, including Finance, and Interior and Defence. This biography draws on Lim's Oral History Interview, which was made accessible to the author, the Hansard, Lim's speeches, and newspaper clippings, in addition to fresh interviews conducted with other Singapore leaders who had worked with Lim. The result is a composite picture of a great Singapore leader.

Rainbow After Dusk: Lim Tze Peng Remembers

Dusk is that brief period of the day before nightfall. But when a rainbow appears after dusk, it is special, almost a divine apparition. The phenomenon, though rare, is not science fiction. Rainbows do appear after dusk. This unusual story is a celebration of mind over matter, life over death, and love over fear. Rainbow after Dusk builds on Soul of Ink to continue telling the Lim Tze Peng story, shifting the focus to the artist's most important works, starting with his Kampong series, to Chinatown, and then his all-important Singapore River works. Told with brushes and paints, the colours used in the narrative give his story a unique visual power. In many ways, his works act as a record of ...

Economic Growth And Transition: Econometric Analysis Of Lim's S-curve Hypothesis

This book is the first of its kind to systematically analyze and apply Lim Chong Yah's S-Curve Hypothesis to the various facets of economic growth and economic transition. By augmenting the mathematical and economical sophistication of the hypothesis, this book extends the S-Curve hypothesis to provide further insight into economic growth and transition. It also utilizes a construction of a stochastic growth model to provide the microeconomic foundation for the S-Curve hypothesis. This model resolves the puzzle of why some developing countries experience economic take-off, while others do not. The book analyzes and extends discussion on the S-Curve, and also applies the S-Curve hypothesis to predict long-term growth in Japan and Singapore. It serves as an excellent resource for people interested in Lim's growth theory.
