Shame-Sex Attraction

We are survivors. We were subjected to dehumanizing practices by people who sought our erasure. We believe telling our stories is both powerful and political. This edited collection brings together the experiences of those who have been subjected to queer conversion therapy - it is an effort to expose conversion practices for what they are - pseudoscientific, bogus, ineffective, and wildly traumatic - and to recognise and listen to survivors. With contributions from Gregory Elsasser-Chavez, Chaim J. Levin, Lexie Bean, Syre Klenke, and many more from across the LGBTQ+ spectrum - this is an attempt to ensure that what happened within these pages cannot - and will not - happen to future generations.

This book consists of edited conversations between DP's, Gaffer's, their crew and equipment suppliers. In common with the other CML books it doesn't have the same structure as a "normal" film reference book. It covers discussions on High Definition between Janaury 2001 and November 2004. The discussions have occasionally been edited for clarity and brevity. They will sometimes ramble a little but that's the nature of a conversation and some interesting information comes out in the process! Our aim is to promote the free exchange of ideas among fellow professionals, the cinematographer, their camera crew, manufacturer's, rental houses and related businesses. Kodak, Arri, Aaton, Panavision, Otto Nemenz, Clairmont, Optex, VFG, Schneider, Tiffen, Fuji, Panasonic, Thomson, K5600, BandPro, Lighttools, Cooke, Plus8, SLF, Atlab Kinetta and Fujinon are among the companies represented.

History of the Prophet Joseph, by His Mother is a biography of Joseph Smith, founder of the Latter Day Saint movement, according to his mother, Lucy Mack Smith. Shortly following the death of Joseph Smith in 1844, and into 1845, Lucy Mack Smith dictated her recollections and family story to Nauvoo schoolteacher Martha Jane Coray who compiled these books of notes and other sources into a manuscript. Publication of the book came with the great controversy. After its publication, Brigham Young declared the book to be a "tissue of lies" and wanted corrections made. Young possibly opposed the book because of his own conflicts with its publisher, Orson Pratt. Lucy Smith portrayed the Smith family as the legitimate leaders of the church, which Young may also have seen as a challenge to his leadership.

HISTORY OF THE PROPHET JOSEPH

This history of the Prophet Joseph Smith, originally entitled, "The History of Mother Smith, by Herself," was written at the dictation of Lucy Smith, mother of the Prophet, by Mrs. Martha Jane Knowlton Coray who acted as her amanuensis. It was taken from the words of Mother Smith and dictated from memory mostly, but she also made use of such historical memoranda of the events related as were within her reach. Believing that both old and young will be pleased as well as benefitted by the perusal of its pages, and praying that it may inspire them with renewed zeal, and create in them additional faith in the great work of the Lord, I commend to the reader this History of the Prophet Joseph. - Joseph F. Smith

History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (originally entitled History of Joseph Smith) is a semi-official history of the early Latter Day Saint movement during the lifetime of founder Joseph Smith. It is largely composed of Smith's writings and interpretations and editorial comments by Smith's secretaries, scribes, and after Smith's death, historians of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The history was written between 1839 and 1856. It was later published in its entirety with extensive annotations and edits by B. H. Roberts as History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The first six volumes of this work cover the "History of Joseph Smith" from his birth in 1805 to his death in 1844. Volume seven covers the material from immediately after Smith's death in June 1844 until the church's first general conference in Salt Lake City._x000D_ Volume 1: 1805 – December 1833_x000D_ Volume 2: January 1834 – December 1837_x000D_ Volume 3: January 1838 – July 1839_x000D_ Volume 4: July 1839 – May 1842_x000D_ Volume 5: May 1842 – August 1843_x000D_ Volume 6: September 1843 – June 1844_x000D_ Volume 7: June 1844 – October 1848
