Pedagogical Documentation in Early Childhood Education
Today, the documentation of children's education and development is an important part of educational work in early childhood education. This book systematises the topic of pedagogical documentation based on current empirical research. The book analyses different pedagogical reasons for documentation and then presents and discusses different procedures of pedagogical documentation in theory and empirical practice : Portfolio, Learning Stories, pedagogical documentation in the room, project documentation and digital pedagogical documentation. Pedagogical documentation is discussed in the tension between a social constructivist understanding of education on the one hand and a diagnostic logic of fostering on the other. The book is intended as a part of pedagogically oriented childhood research, which also wants to contribute to the reflection and improvement of pedagogical practice.

MultiPluriTrans in Educational Ethnography
Ethnography has established itself as a key strategy of qualitative research in education, because it is so versatile, flexible, and ambiguous. Its growing importance coincides with an increasing diversity of »discovered« educational realities. In the process, many basic assumptions have turned into genuine tasks of research. Where are the places and times of learning, education, and social work to be found? Who are the actors and addressees? How are education and learning performed and enacted? The contributions to this volume discuss the multiple challenges that ethnographic research has to confront when exploring the multimodality, plurality, and translocality of educational realities.

Die Dokumentation von Bildung und Entwicklung der Kinder ist heute ein wichtiger Teil der Bildungsarbeit in Kindertageseinrichtungen. Das vorliegende Buch systematisiert auf Basis der aktuellen empirischen Forschung das Thema Bildungsdokumentation. Nach der Analyse verschiedenerer pädagogischer Begründungen von Dokumentation werden die Formen der Bildungsdokumentation in Theorie und empirischer Praxis vorgestellt und kritisch diskutiert: Portfolio, Lerngeschichten, Bildungsdokumentation im Raum, Projektdokumentation und digitale Bildungsdokumentation. Bildungsdokumentation wird dabei im Spannungsfeld zwischen einem sozialkonstruktivistischen Bildungsverständnis einerseits und einer diagnostischen Förderlogik andererseits diskutiert. Das Buch versteht sich als Beitrag zu einer pädagogisch orientierten Kindheitsforschung, die auch zur Reflexion und Verbesserung der pädagogischen Praxis beitragen möchte.
The New Isaac
Gospel scholarship has long recognized that Matthean Christology is a rich, multifaceted tapestry weaving multifold Old Testment figures together in the person of Jesus. It is somewhat strange, therefore, that scholarship has found little role for the figure of Isaac in the Gospel of Matthew. Employing Umberto Eco's theory of the Model Reader as a theoretical basis to ground the phenomenon of Matthean intertextuality, this work contends that when read rightly as a coherent narrative in its first-century setting, with proper attention to both biblical texts and extrabiblical traditions about Isaac, the Gospel of Matthew evinces a significant Isaac typology in service of presenting Jesus as new temple and decisive sacrifice.

A Gospel for a New People
This book thoroughly examines Matthew's gospel. It discusses appropriate methods for interpretation and considers in detail the gospel's origin, purpose, and social setting. Graham Stanton claims that Matthew wrote the Gospel following a period of prolonged bitter disputes with fellow Jews. With considerable literary, catechetical, and pastoral skill the evangelist composed a gospel for a new people (both Jews and Gentiles) in a cluster of Christian communities. Dividing his book into three sections, Stanton discusses redaction critical, literary critical, and social scientific approaches to the interpretation of Matthew; he confirms that Matthew's Gospel was shaped by the "parting of the ways" with Judaism; and he includes two essays on the Sermon on the Mount and one on Matthew's use of the Old Testament.
